Once upon a time…
there was a woman with a dream. She liked to shop for gifts for friends, family and co-workers, but found that finding the time and the right product was a challenge. So she decided to make it easier for others by simplifying the process. And in 1996 Babybox.com was born.
Now this woman wasn’t content to just sell a bib here or a mass-produced toy there. Oh no, she wanted to sell only the highest quality baby products that she could find. She also wanted the process to be easy, as she knew how precious time could be. Who has the time to shop umpteen numbers of stores to find the right product that you desire? Some do, but enough other people struggle with time management during the day and just want to go home to relax at the end of it. Hence online shopping was key to Babybox.com‘s mission. Shopping from your own home simplifies any shopping experience, especially when helpful customer service representatives are just a quick phone call away to help you with your shopping needs.
Sometimes the magic of a gift is in the packaging of it though. Who doesn’t recall the excitement of staring at an unopened present, wondering what could possibly be inside? What would Christmas and birthdays be like without that thrill? That’s why Babybox.com also makes the effort to present all of our orders in beautiful packaging. Sometimes the surprise is just as important as the gift itself and we know that.
Ultimately, the vision was all about babies though. They are a wonderful addition to any family and Babybox.com celebrates that. We offer personalized gifts, custom-made furniture, unique on-of-a-kind items, and products that are just plain perfect for kids. Because not only did Katherine Styne Type want all of this for her customers, but she has a family of her own that deserve only the best as well. So if you are wondering where to find a great baby gift, try Babybox.com. Katherine had a vision 17 years ago, and it has only grown bigger through the years.
See why she stands out in the e-commerce marketplace today!

It has happened again. Tragedy has been meted out in the Nation’s Capital. Today, 13 people were killed in the heart of a Navy Complex in Washington. It is early to speculate, but in the wake of these senseless killings, we are reeling at this fresh loss of innocence. It is too soon on the heels of the anniversary of 9/11. It is always too close for comfort. One cannot help but remember the recent scenes of death in Boston, at Sandy Hook Elementary, in a movie theatre in Aurora Co, at an army base in Fort Hood, Tx, and too many more place where terror has reigned supreme.
We are due for a whole lot more peace.
We need an end to war in Syria, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan, Mexico, and beyond. People need to stop fighting in Israel and Pakistan, in Niger, Yemen and in too many hotspots around the globe. What we really need is Peace around the World!
What has happened to people spreading love and happiness, goodwill and friendship to all around us? Don’t enough parents teach their children to respect others, their thoughts, feelings and rights? Haven’t we learned enough from others past mistakes? Can’t someone just wrap the world in a blanket of peace and make it stick?
I don’t know what is going to happen in Washington tomorrow. People there will need to get over their shell shock. They will need some way to feel safe and secure again. They will need answers and a means to be able to return to some kind of sense of normal once more. It makes me sick that tragedies like the one in the Washington Navy Yard happen. All we can hope is that one day we will learn from the mistakes that continue to plague us.
All we can pray for is peace for all.

I saw the cutest baby bump this week. Pregnant women are just beautiful, aren’t they? They just have a brilliant glow about them that is hard to resist. Now, that doesn’t mean you should go and massage every pregnant woman’s belly that you see. You might get knocked into next week! You see women have these things called hormones that rage pretty good during pregnancy. All the Moms out there are nodding vigorously right about now. While I remember the excitement, I also remember the swollen ankles, aching back, and the time I yelled at my husband because he…
Hmm, perhaps that’s a story for a different time. Anyway, Babybox.com loves pregnant women regardless of their good days and bad. That’s why we have so many items that are specially crafted with them in mind. 13 cheers for round bodies this week!

School is all about the ABC’s and 123′s. Children learn how to read, write, count, calculate, and question the world around them. As parents, we teach our children from the moment they are born though. We help them learn how to talk, walk, and understand the world around them. One of the best ways to start a young life on the right track is to take the opportunity to spend quality time with your children. That means hugging and cuddling them from the time they are born. That looks like slowing down enough to take the time to see the world through their eyes. Sometimes, that is getting down on the ground to inspect insects with them. Sometimes, that is boosting them up to the sky, so that they can better reach the stars. Sometimes, that is cuddling into a comfy chair to read stories and connect over a good book. It is called love, and it comes in so many ways. When we teach children how to love, we give them a bigger piece of the world to grow and learn in. There is no better gift.
At Babybox.com, we appreciate the bond between parent and child. We are all about quality time and the joy that it brings. That is one of the reasons why we offer our high-quality products, so that you can easily and comfortably spend more time with your children while they are young and keen to soak it all in. You have the opportunity to give your child a head start on the more formal schooling they will receive later when you teach simple color recognition, counting, vocabulary, and more over fun one-on-one games, during mealtimes, in the bathtub, and when getting ready for bed.
Think what your child can learn during any of those moment. At bathtime, they can count their fingers, toes, arms, and legs. At mealtime, they are introduced to the senses of taste, touch, smell, sight and even hearing (have you ever heard a fajita being made? sizzle!). At bedtime, grab a book and inspire an imagination that soars when you flip through the pages of a book together.
If you think about it, by the time your child reaches school age, they have learned a vast amount of knowledge already. Even if reading and writing haven’t been completely mastered yet, I bet you have taught your child enough to make it an easy jump. Most preschoolers recognize stop signs, whether it be by color, shape, or the words upon the sign. The concept of history might still be a vague notion, but children certainly can grasp dinner time, bathtime and bedtime. Politics is a far cry to understand for the young learner, but children have already been introduced to some of its concepts, like sharing, listening to others, taking turns, compromising, and voting (think about when a group of kids has to agree on which movie to watch, game to play, or snack to eat). Sometimes I think our politicians could learn something from kindergarteners!
Regardless, learning is something that we begin upon birth and follows us til death. When you take the time to be your child’s first teacher, you set them on a path for quality lifelong learning. Think about that. And think about what you learn from your children along the way too.
What have you learned today?

The first bell has rung. School has begun. Once all you parents have finished your happy dances, you can get back into routines again yourself. Did you think that you would get away scot free? Sorry about that! It’s time for PTA meetings, running kids to after-school activities, and maybe even a trip to the gym (if you can fit back into your sweats after a long lazy summer). Up and at em. Let’s get the adults back into shape today.
Ok, PTA meetings are something that just has to get scheduled in.No questions asked. And unless your kids are already old enough to stay home on their own, that means a babysitter for you. That’s where this handy little journal comes in. This is the perfect gift for a new mom. Instead of scrawling instructions on the kitchen notepad every time you hire a sitter, jot them down once and for all in “A Parent’s Journal for the Babysitter”. An extremely well-organized diary of all your baby’s routines, special likes, dislikes, and important phone numbers. Works well for older kids too! Comes equipped with tabbed sections and categories. There’s even a separate pad for contact information and schedules. It’s so simple, stylish and useful, this will be one of the most valuable gifts you can give. No more worries about leaving your child to new caregivers or visiting relatives.
Before you hit the first PTA meeting, you might want to hit the gym. Grab your sweats, runners and a water bottle. It is time to work off all those summer cocktails ladies! Everything that you need for the gym will fit into the new Captain Louis tote by Henry Brown. It is a must have in every household. This large stylish canvas bag is an ideal choice whenever you need a bag to carry a lot of stuff; beach towels, ski jackets, weekend toys, riding boots, tennis or gym clothes. With a bit more style than a LL Bean tote, this bag is a nice alternative. The Captain Louis is made of durable all canvas exterior, finished out with handles and a bottom in bourbon barrel brown. Inside is finished with a brown and white stripe and is trimmed with a coordinating velvet ribbon. Each Captain Louis Tote Bag measures an oversized 26 x 17. It is available in 7 colors each with cream colored top stitching. Features a single interior zipper pocket; an easy top tabbed closure.
Along with resuming your trips to the gym, how about getting back into other healthier habits. Drinking water now and again wouldn’t hurt. Take it any place from gym, park, office or even for shopping girls! It comes in 8”t x 3”w size with 20 oz. The bottle is extremely handy with two lids and a carabiner key clip for attaching it easily. It is BPA free as well. The maximum characters that can be written are 7.
The only thing left is to organize routines for the entire family. Easy, right? Not when Jimmy’s got football practice at 6pm, 3 night a week, Jenna’s got piano twice a week, and Nathan takes both karate and Scouts to fit in. The Wall Calendar from MomAgenda is a brilliant new addition for every busy family. This Wall Calendar’s unique format separates planning space for mom and up to four children so you can manage multiple schedules without multiple headaches. This new design has new colors and more space!

Are you enjoying the last of your summer? Have you started the transition back to the regular, daily grind? School start is coming at us fast and furious, so now is the time to get ready for back-to-school routines, if you haven’t started yet. That means going to bed earlier, getting up earlier, and cleaning up in order to be organized for school, extracurricular activities and the faster pace that is life most of the time.
So how do you convince kids to start going to bed earlier? How about fresh pillows to rest their heads on? The Naturepedic Organic Cotton Toddler, Queen or King size Pillow combines Organic Kapok/Cotton which are made with soft sateen organic cotton fabric and an organic cotton/organic kapok blend fill. These pillows are completely organic and are very comfortable, but they must be spot-cleaned only, please note. They are a luxurious 300 thread count organic cotton fabric, filled with a 50/50 blend of organic kapok and organic cotton. Now how is that for a little inspiration to rest your head?
As far as getting up goes, it might be time to turn back to the alarm clock for everyone in the family. Do you need somewhere to put it? How about here! The hand carved Basket Weave Nightstand is traditionally styled by Seabrook Classics. Keep your bedroom clean and tidy with this well-constructed drawer having multi-storage capacity. It is made up of environment-friendly, hand carved wood in black shade. This graceful, time-honored nightstand stylishly compliments your magnificent bed and helps in giving orderly look. It can be used to support a lamp, alarm clock, mobile phone, book, medication or any other handy items, required during the night.
Now that you are awake, how about tackling some of that organizing? First step is to clean the house, and then move on to organizing. Why not try a bookcase in your child’s room to help keep the clutter at bay? The Madeline Bookcase is just what your little girl’s room needs! This 9-hole cubby storage system is shown in Swiss Coffee, but you may select any of Country Cottage’s distressed finishes to match your kid’s room perfectly. They can tuck books, collectibles, nick nacks and NO more than that on these pretty shelves.
Now the only thing left is to re-start those routines. A little hard work never hurt anyone and just might help to keep the whole family on track. Our custom children’s chore charts are unique and fun. With custom option specific to your child’s age and chores, each column can be personalized. From “practice piano, water plants, make bed, to practice violin, walk dog, make bed, each can be original to your own household. Cuter than any that we have seen, your little one will be eager to earn gold stars with our adorable chore chart. Specify up to nine tasks and we include the classic gold star stickers to make marking accomplished chores a breeze. Set a goal each week and fill in the “prize” that will be won if the child earns enough stars. An age-appropriate reward system that will encourage responsibility and independence. Your child will be scrambling to clean up those toys in order to “win” a scoop of ice cream, a new Matchbox car or a trip to the Zoo! Printed on natural white, text-weight paper. Order includes (2) pads with 50 sheets per pad, plus 275 gold foil stickers. Additional stickers available for purchase. Pads measure 9″ x 7.5″ inches.

Summertime is the perfect time for slowing down. It is a great time to reconnect with yourself and nature. Oftentimes, that kick starts a little creativity that you just won’t find in the busyness during the rest of the year. Consider taking a walk in the woods with your kids and making an adventure out of it. Can you find a fairy ring? How many nests can you discover? Do you know which tracks belong to whom? Wouldn’t it make a great place for a scavenger hunt? Of course!
Babybox’s Woodland Scavenger Hunt
birds in a tree wall art
Let’s start with something easy. How about you track down some feathers. One would be great, but why not try collecting several different colors from different birds. How many birds do you spy in our birds in a tree wall art? I see yellow, pink, brown and more! Start collecting.
fatboy co9 rabbit bean bag lime
How about something a little trickier. Can you spy a rabbit in the woods, or at least the tracks he has left behind? The tracks from the fatboy co9 rabbit bean bag lime would be fairly easy to spot, I’d think. Although the little guy in the picture doesn’t look like he realises that this rabbit is sneaking up behind him.
stationery – nest
Now how about a nest? The babies might be flown already, but there is sure to be a nest or two hidden amongst the treetops. Perhaps you might be lucky enough to come across one dug under a fallen log even. In fact, Babybox.com has a custom nest on this cute stationery right here!
flatofrog with green bow – 25 inches by north american bear
Follow your ears to find this creature. Ribbit, ribbit… Why it’s a frog! Here is the rare 25-inch flatofrog with green bow by north american bear. While he might be hard to find in the woods, Babybox.com carries them in 8 and 15 inch sizes too!
What other things might be found in the woods? Make a list before you head out and check off as many as you can while you are exploring. You might even find some other exciting items you never dreamed you would. Have fun tracking! Let us know what YOU find.
